The fastest checks, in the right order
The current official patch history gives us two useful checks. Update 1.0.9 improved lobby loading, party entry, and Quick Entry behaviour. It also set Wide as the default only for new users and players who fully reset their settings. Existing players may still need to change it themselves.
Then check party activity. Update 1.0.10 says multiplayer parties can be disbanded when the leader remains unresponsive for an extended period. That does not explain every empty search, but it is worth ruling out before rebuilding a room.
What Wide changes — and what it cannot change
Wide asks the game to look across a broader lobby range. It can improve discovery when your local pool is quiet; it cannot create players or guarantee that another player is queuing for the same activity at the same time.
If the room still will not fill
Try a direct friend invite to separate a connection or party problem from a population problem. If the direct invite works, the issue may simply be a quiet queue. We do not treat old videos or community posts as proof of the current lobby flow—check the live in-game labels after each major patch.
